Amsoil 2-Cycle Racing Oil Technical Article

Prevent Deposits And Wear

Amsoil Dominator 2-Cycle Racing Oil contains premium additives that have been tested and proven to provide superior cleanliness in both air and water-cooled motors.

Amsoil Dominator 2-Cycle additives inhibit deposit formation in the ring grooves, in the combustion chamber and on the exhaust power valves.

With Amsoil Dominator 2-Cycle Racing Oil, rings do not stick, spark plugs do not foul and exhaust power valve maintenance is minimized.

Reduces Friction, Maintains Power

Amsoil Dominator 2-Cycle Racing Oil provides the ultimate protection for the hardest working, hottest running two-cycle engines. The heat generated from hot running racing engines causes the pistons to expand, reducing the piston-to-cylinder wall clearance. This produces friction and reduces power. Amsoil 2-Cycle Racing Oil was designed to reduce friction and heat so maximum power is maintained.

As the graph below shows, Amsoil Dominator Racing Oil minimizes power loss due to friction, maintaining 17.6% more torque than TC-W3 reference two-cycle oil.

Amsoil Inc. conducted an in-house test comparing Amsoil Dominator 2-Cycle Racing Oil and over a dozen competive two-cycle oils. A Husqvarna Model XP266 chainsaw was run on a wide-open throttle at 12,000 rpm. All oils were run at 50:1 fuel/oil mix ratios. Using a multi-port fuel valve, the engine could be switched to different oil brands without shutting off the engine. The cylinder head temperature was closely monitored. In each comparison test the temperature was stabilized at 417 degrees F using Amsoil Dominator 2-Cycle Oil. And in each case when the valve was switched over to the competitive brand, the temperature rose indicating friction and heat. The further the temperature rose, the less power was maintained. Using the competitors products, temperatures ranged from 425 degrees F to 445 degrees F, up to a full 28 degrees higher than the engine temperature using Amsoil Series 2000 2-Cycle Racing Oil.
